This is the UFC on FUEL TV 7 live blog for Renan Barao vs. Michael McDonald, a bantamweight bout at Saturday’s UFC event at Wembley Arena in London.

Barao, who has won 29 straight fights, will face McDonald, who has won eight straight fights, in the main event for the UFC interim bantamweight title.

Round 1: Refere Marc Goddard oversees the action for this interim bantamweight title bout. Wild spinning back kick misses for Barao. Barao shoots and muscles McDonald down. McDonald reestablishes his guard. McDonald finds an inch of space and kicks Barao off. McDonald lunges forward with a right hand. Barao slips a combination and connects with a counter right. Straight left cracks Barao. McDonald lunges forward and unleashes a flurry of punches that drop Barao to his knees. Barao ties up, unloads a series of short punches, then tosses McDonald to the mat, landing inside his guard. Wild back and forth action here. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 for McDonald.

Round 2: Left hook from McDonald lands flush. McDonald leaps out of the way of a spinning back kick. Accidental headbutt. Barao changes levels and drags McDonald to the floor, but only briefly. Fantastic takedown defense from McDonald. Barao charges forward, missing witha flurry. A wayward finger finds its way into McDonald’s eye, but after a quick break we’re back. Both fighters trade combinations. Barao cracks McDonald with a leg kick, followed by a front kick. McDonald eats another kick and this time answers with a hard right hand. Barao glances McDonald with a spinning back kick at the horn. Close round. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 for Barao.

Round 3: McDonald lunges forward and misses a combination. Barao counters with a flurry. McDonald circles out, but Barao closes the distance against the fence and muscles McDonald down, landing in side control. Barao looks for the mount but McDonald simply tosses him off. Back to the feet and McDonald responds first, winging a right hand to the jaw of Barao. Barao eats another right hand, this time answering with his own shot. Both fighters trade straight rights. McDonald leaps in and finds a home for an uppercut. Barao backs up McDonald with a perfect spinning back kick. MMA Fighting scores it 10-9 for Barao.

Round 4: McDonald answers the bell with a wide smile plastered across his face. McDonald easily stuffs a takedown. Barao tosses out a front kick then connects with a blistering flying knee. McDonald’s nose is bloodied. McDonald unloads a flurry but nothing lands flush. Another spinning back kick cracks McDonald. McDonald ducks under a hook but can’t find a home for his counter right. Barao clinches against the fence, unloads a few knees, then tosses McDonald to the mat. Barao locks onto McDonald’s back. McDonald rolls and Barao instantly seizes a tight arm triangle. This could be all she wrote. McDonald valiantly struggles to survive, but it’s for naught. There’s the tap.
