The TUF Brazil 2 coaches’ fight has finally found an official home.
The bout between veteran heavyweights Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum will take place at UFC on Fuel 10 on June 8 in Brazil. MMAFighting.com’s Ariel Helwani confirmed the news on Tuesday’s edition of Fuel’s UFC Tonight.
Nogueira (34-7-1, 1 no-contest), the 36-year old former PRIDE and UFC interim champion, will be fighting for the first time since submitting Dave Herman at UFC 153 in Rio on Oct. 13. “Big Nog” has won two of his past three fights, with both wins taking place in his Brazilian homeland.
Werdum (16-5-1), meanwhile, hasn’t been heard from much since last June’s UFC 147, where he made short work of Mike Russow. Werdum has won his past two fights and five of six since he was infamously cut from the UFC after a knockout loss to Junior dos Santos at UFC 90.
Several other bouts have already been finalized for the card. In addition to the welterweight season finale fight, Brazilian Erick Silva will meet Britain’s John Hathaway in a welterweight fight, and Thiago Silva will meet Rafael Cavalcante at light heavyweight.
