UFC welterweight Nate Diaz is ready to fight Dustin Poirier and aimed at the UFC to make it happen in a recent tweet.

Diaz and Poirier have called to fight one another for months, with talks ramping up following Poirier’s most recent loss to Charles Oliveira at UFC 269. In the aftermath of the defeat, Poirier said Diaz would be the one fight he would be most excited about for a return.

Negotiations haven’t budged since the two first talked about fighting in January, but it appears that won’t happen. It’s unclear when Diaz and Poirier will be matched up with one another and whether or not the fight will happen at all.

But Diaz appears to be ready to move forward with negotiations, as evidenced by a recent tweet.

“[UFC] stop playing with me,” Diaz said. “Consider this my signature to fight this f**ker I been trying to fight for a minute quit slowing down the real fight game it’s time.

Nate Diaz Appears Ready To Fight

Diaz hasn’t fought in the octagon since his defeat to Leon Edwards at UFC 263. He lost the fight via a unanimous decision despite a late flurry which nearly finished the bout in his favor.

Diaz and Poirier were supposed to compete in late 2018 before the fight fell through. The two sides have accused the other of the fight not coming to fruition, but the bout may happen after all.

It’s unclear if Poirier will make an eventual return to lightweight, but he seems content on pursuing new ventures at welterweight. During recent interviews, he’s alluded to the weight cut to 155 pounds having quite the toll on his body.

It’ll be interesting to see if the UFC brass, and more specifically Dana White, move forward on a formal negotiation.

Do you think Nate Diaz vs. Dustin Poirier will happen next?

The Octagon is finally headed back to the United Kingdom.

British MMA fans won’t have to wait too much longer to finally see the UFC in their country again.

On Wednesday the promotion announced a Fight Night event at London’s O2 Arena on March 19th, with tickets on sale on February 4th.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic was declared in March 2020, the UFC has held events exclusively in the United States and Abu Dhabi. When the global shutdown began, the first card cancelled was the London show slated to have Leon Edwards take on Tyron Woodley in the main event.

The last UFC London show occurred back in March 2019, when Jorge Masvidal sensationally knocked out Darren Till in the night’s headliner. Their previous non-US/non-Abu Dhabi event was UFC Brasilia, which was held behind closed doors.

No main event has been announced for the 2022 edition of UFC London, but Gunnar Nelson is hoping his first fight since 2019 is on the card. Paddy Pimblett vs. Jared Gordon has also been linked to the show, but the managers of both fighters disagreed with Dana White’s premature confirmation.

Nate Diaz has officially signed on to fight former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) interim Lightweight champion, Dustin Poirier. But it wasn’t via an official UFC contract. Instead, the Stockton slugger gave his commitment — and signature — to the fight on Twitter. Diaz vented his frustrations aimed at the promotion on social media for keeping him on ice and, more importantly, for not making a fight against Poirier.

“UFC, stop playing with me, consider this my signature to fight this fucker. I been trying to fight for a minute quit slowing down the real fight game it’s time,” wrote Diaz.

Diaz claimed a few weeks ago that it was UFC matchmakers who didn’t want to make the fight. Poirier, for one, has been chasing this fight for a few years now ever since their first scheduled showdown — which was set up for UFC 230 back in 2018 — was scrapped due to “Diamond” suffering an injury.

The two have been at one another’s throats ever since, but the promotion hasn’t done much to try and re-book the fight. While both men have gone on to do well for themselves since, with each facing Conor McGregor on two separate occasions, raking in the money in the process, for whatever reason a fight between them just hasn’t lined up.

But it seems now is the time since both men are asking for it and both are without a dance partner at the moment. The only obstacle in the way, it seems, is UFC itself. But since Dana White and Co. are all about giving fight fans what they want, isn’t it elementary that a fight between Diaz and Poirier is bound to happen soon?

For what it’s worth, Poirier had a tweet of his own:

The mental warfare is in full effect ahead of the trilogy between Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno at UFC 270.

Figueiredo and Moreno will settle the final chapter of their electrifying trilogy to begin 2022. Figueiredo retained the belt via a controversial majority draw at UFC 256, and Moreno submitted him in the rematch at UFC 263.

Tensions have escalated since Moreno earned the belt, and Figueiredo has gotten ready for their trilogy alongside former flyweight champion Henry Cejudo. Moreno and Cejudo used to train together and Figueiredo has alluded to feeling better and healthier with his new team at Fight Ready in Arizona.

During a recent interview with MMA Fighting’s Trocacao Franca podcast, Figueiredo explained his newfound beef with Moreno.

“Brandon Moreno is dirty—that’s all I have to say about him,” Figueiredo said. “He’s dirty. He’s a traitor. When I came to Scottsdale, [Ariz. at the Fight Ready gym,] Henry Cejudo told me about his betrayal. He lived with Henry Cejudo here and then became [Joseph] Benavidez’s sparring partner to fight Cejudo, so that was his biggest betrayal.”

Cejudo retired from the UFC following his bantamweight title defense against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. He has hinted at a possible comeback to challenge for the featherweight title against Alexander Volkanovski.

After Moreno and Cejudo were once teammates, Moreno has recently hinted at a possible showdown with Cejudo shortly. It’s unclear if Cejudo would ever consider returning at 125 pounds or a higher weight class.

Figueiredo and Cejudo have had their fair share of differences in the past, but it appears that the two have become close since training together. The buildup to the trilogy with Moreno could include more intensity than their previous two bouts.

What is your prediction for Deiveson Figueiredo vs. Brandon Moreno 3?

Ciryl Gane is looking towards a heavyweight legend next, win or lose at UFC 270.

UFC 270 goes down in Las Vegas on Saturday night and the main event will crown the undisputed heavyweight champion. While interim champion Ciryl Gane has his hands full taking on Francis Ngannou, he can’t help but look to another fight. Gane believes that with former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones targeting a move to heavyweight, the two will eventually meet.

Jones could be next for a title shot following UFC 270, but a win for Gane is not the only scenario where he sees the two of them opposite the Octagon from each other. Gane believes he will see Jones one way or another.

“Even if I lose, I think this fight can happen because a lot of fans and media talk about this fight because you have a really good matchup,” Gane told GIVEMESPORT.com. “Jon Jones was an inspiration to me when I started my career. Not a hero per se, but a model, and an inspiration as a fighter. Jon Jones is very well-rounded, I want to be this kind of fighter, so yeah I’m very interested in this fight.”

Although Jones is new to heavyweight, he has been a vet of the light heavyweight division for a long time. He has ruled the 205-pound division since 2011. Gane, on the other hand, only burst onto the UFC scene in 2019 and has quickly made a name for himself. He represents a “new guard” in the organization and he thinks his generation will do great things.

“I love my generation. I think just behind me there are a lot of future stars. Like, I like to say his name, but Tom Aspinall is a really good fighter.”We have a lot of names when we talk about the new generation just behind me and I think they are the future of the division.”

Gane is undefeated as a professional and, at only 31 years old, could have a decent amount of time ahead of him at the top. If he becomes the heavyweight champion on Saturday night, he might get the chance he has been waiting for: a fight against Jon Jones. With a long enough run as champ, he could get a chance to face a few vets of the division as well as some up-and-comers.

Would you rather see Jon Jones face Gane or Ngannou in his divisional debut?

Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagle FC promotion has been making big moves with the recent signing of former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight contender, Kevin Lee. But the former 155-pound champion and his team aren’t done yet.

According to MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin, the promotion has inked another former UFC veteran as Impa Kasanganay has reached an agreement with the company and is set to make his debut on March 11, 2022.

Kasanganay parted ways with the promotion a few weeks ago after going 2-2 with the Endeavor-owned mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion. Prior to making his UFC debut in Aug. 2020, Kasangany had gone 9-0 in the years since he went pro. He was last seen losing to Carlston Harris via first-round knockout in Nov. 2021.

Eagles FC’s first event under Khabib’s direction will go down on Jan. 28, 2022 with a headlining act featuring Tyron Spong taking on Sergei Kharitonov. In the co-main event, former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Rashad Evans ends his retirement to take on Gabirle Cheko. In further action, Ray Borg will battle Cody Gibson in Bantamweight action.
