The much-anticipated third installment in the “Sharknado” film series will feature a familiar face to MMA fans.

Veteran Josh Barnett has a cameo appearance in the upcoming “Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!” film, which premieres July 22 on Syfy, according to an NBC Universal representative. Barnett plays the role of Sgt. Richards, who helps fight off incoming Sharknados.

Barnett has been busy working on his acting skills since he last fought in Dec. 2013. Here‘s a look at his IMDB page. He is currently scheduled to return to the UFC on Sept. 27 against Roy Nelson.
