This week’s episode immediately focuses on tension gripping Team Mexico. Teammates Rodolfo and Yair will face each other, and the Team Velasquez training staff has some hard decisions to make. In order to not upset anyone, the coaching staff decides that they will not corner either fighter. They will assist with conditioning, refuse to do any strategy or planning. The entire team finds the decision to be fair, and don’t have a problem with it.

We begin at the TUF house where Guido is still in shock over his split decision loss from last week. Members of Team Latin America and Team Mexico haven’t agreed on much this season, but they both agree that Guido hasn’t been able to accept this defeat. He’s telling every person that will listen (and some that aren’t) that he was cheated out of a victory. He even calls it “The biggest robbery in the world!”

The episode begins with Guido and Marco going a some fact finding missions in preparation for their upcoming fight. Neither knows much about their opponent, so it makes sense. What doesn’t make much sense, though, is the way they go about it. They actually ask each other! They should know that you can’t trust a fighter’s own opinion of themselves. If that were the case, 98% of fights would end in a double knockout.

The episode begins inside the a Team Pettis training session. This week, though, we’ll have to call it Team Faber. Due to a “prior engagement,” Coach Pettis asked Urijah Faber to come in to drill the team. A former TUF coach of his own, Faber was more than happy to take up Showtime’s offer. After working with the team, Faber singles out Joanne Calderwood as “the lead horse.” He might want to use different language the next time around, but I’m sure Joanne appreciates the compliment anyway.
