Anthony Johnson takes Alexander Gustafsson’s No. 1 light heavyweight ranking in the latest official UFC rankings release after his unbelievable first-round TKO finish of the Sweden star on FOX.
With the win, Johnson punched his ticket to the next title shot against champion Jon Jones for some time later this year. “Rumble” said Jones is in for something he’s never had to face before.

Irish sensation Conor McGregor may have officially arrived as a star in the U.S. this past weekend after his dominant main event TKO win against Dennis Siver.
After all, the numbers don’t lie.
Fight Night Boston from TD Bank Garden in Boston drew an average of 2,751,000 viewers on FOX Sports 1 and peaked with 3,162,000 viewers during McGregor-Siver. Those are the highest numbers a UFC event has ever posted on the network, breaking the previous mark of 1,780,000 average and 2,270,000 peak held by Chael Sonnen vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.

Just two days after Conor McGregor officially became the No. 1 contender to Jose Aldo’s 145-pound title after a win over Dennis Siver at Fight Night Boston, “The Notorious” made a jump in the latest release of the official UFC rankings.
McGregor moves up to No. 4 this week, passing Cub Swanson to place him right behind Chad Mendes (No. 1), Frankie Edgar (No. 2) and Ricardo Lamas (No. 3).
With the loss, Siver drops out of the top 10 down to No. 12, allowing Jeremy Stephens and Clay Guida to each move up a spot.

Jose Aldo was a good sport on Saturday afternoon during his Q & A session ahead of the Fight Night Boston weigh-ins at the Orpheum Theatre.
Aldo fielded questions from a predominantly Irish crowd.
