While we’re in updating UFC fight card mode today, a trio of bouts have been added to the UFC on Versus 1 card scheduled for March 21st.
In addition to the Jon “Bones Jones vs. Brandon Vera headliner, the following fights are now confirmed:
Jason Brilz vs. Eric Schafer
Chase Gormley vs. Brendan Schaub
James Irvin vs. Alessio Sakara
Relatedly, we’re finally seeing some lines posted for the headlining fight. Not surprisingly, Jones is currently favored at -270 to Vera’s +210. Bet on Jones vs. Vera here.
Kimbo Slice is waiting to take aim at his next opponent. Ok ok. That was lame.
Lots of chatter going on regarding UFC 113, and specifically if Kimbo Slice will be fighting Matt Mitrione on the PPV card or not.
First, Five Ounces of Pain reported the fight was on. Then Mitrione went to Facebook and said […]

Regardless, the rest of the now May 8th card in Montreal has filled out nicely, with headliner Lyoto Machida vs. Mauricio “Shogun” Rua, now confirmed Paul Daley vs. Josh Koscheck, and still-in-the-works-but-likely Marcus Davis vs. Jonathan Goulet, Alan Belcher vs. Patrick Cote, and Jeremy Stephens vs. Sam Stout.

Reljic is making his UFC return after taking time off from a back injury. The injury first happened back in May 2008 before his UFC 90 fight against Thales Leites. Goran then went back to Croatia to get back surgery, where he then further aggravated the injury by lifting a fucking car out of the ocean and saving two people’s lives in the process (Goran apparently will discuss more about that story in one of the later Road To videos in the series).
Anyway, in this first installment, Reljic starts his conditioning program with Xtreme Couture trainer Jake Bonaci and discusses his strategy for his upcoming UFC 110 bout against C.B. Dolloway.

Lots of fight card and venue speculation going on right now for UFC 112, scheduled for April 12th in Abu Dhabi.
As reported here, a stadium is currently under construction in Abu Dhabi to house UFC 112. This would make UFC 112 the promotion’s first ever outdoor card. However, it’s still unclear whether or not the venue will be finished and ready by April 12 (our guess: they’ll figure it out and it’ll be ready, come hell or high-water).
Anyway, the UFC is packing an helluva one-two-punch with UFC 111 and 112 in March and April. Both cards will feature co-headlining title bouts.
The rumored UFC 112 card (no fights formerly announced just yet) includes: Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort (Middleweight title fight), B.J. Penn vs. Frankie Edgar (Lightweight title fight), Matt Hughes vs. Renzo Gracie, and Mark Munoz vs. Kendall Grove.
We expect both Anderson Silva and B.J. Penn to be listed as HEAVY favorites for their fights once UFC 112 betting odds are announced.
More to come on UFC 112 as information is available…

UPDATE: Brock Lesnar went on ESPN SportsCenter this morning to discuss his illness and eventual return to the UFC.
Explaining his illness (diverticulitis), Lesnar said he “lost 40 lbs” (he’s since put 30 lbs back on) and that there was a chance he’d need a surgery that would cause him to never fight again.
But Brock explained that he responded well to treatments, took some cracks at the Canadian healthcare system, said it was a “miracle” that he’s healed and attributed some of it to the “power of positive thinking.” Brock has gotten CT scans and colonoscopies done as well as received “three to four” medical opinions, and he’s now cleared to fight again.
Dana White made it clear that Brock is still UFC heavyweight champ. He also said that the winner of Frank Mir vs. Shane Carwin at UFC 111 (unless one of them gets injured, in which case it will be the winner of Big Nog vs. Cain Velasquez) WILL fight Brock Lesnar this summer for the title.
