This card should be very exciting one to say the least. As you all know, when the Big Boys of the Heavyweight division step into the octagon, the fights very rarely go the full 15 minutes. In my 3 picks tonight, I expect more of the same with 3 early KO/TKOs, possibly all in the 1st round. So far through 3 events the Crisper sits at -2.65 units on posted picks. Expect those numbers to turn around tonight with a 3-0 performance!!

Lavar ‘Big’ Johnson +110 over Stephan Struve. Struve is 6’11 and will try to use his reach and kicks to keep Johnson away from him. Johnson has a good chin, however, and will be relentless in his efforts to get inside. Once he has him in his range, Struve will go down faster than your high school girlfriend on prom night. Johnson cannot allow Struve to take this fight to the ground because his BJJ will prove to be too much.

Ok, these aren’t really too difficult. Crisper is taking current champ Junior Dos Santos (-550) and the man he took the belt from Cain Velasquez (-400). Risking these 9.5 units just to win 2 units may seem a bit risky, but trust me they will both win. Dos Santos will not let Frank Mir get him to the mat, which is Mir’s ONLY chance. Even if it does go to the ground briefly, Dos Santos is skilled enough in his BJJ defense to quickly get back to his feet.
As for Velasquez, his opponent Antonio Silva comes over from Strikeforce where he really hasn’t had any victories over top tier heavyweights. He does have the height/reach advantage over Cain, but Velasquez will be in on the legs of the lanky Silva all night. After this fight when you search for “ground and pound” on the internet, a video of this fight will pop up showing Velasquez ending Silva’s UFC debut in the 1st round.
Crisper expects to win 3 plus units with a perfect night and get back into positive territory for the year.
