Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight contender, Abel Trujillo, is currently behind bars after he was arrested on May 24, 2019, in Broward County, Fla., and charged with sexual exploitation of a child and felony obscenity.

That’s according to TSN, who reported that a warrant for Abel’s arrest was issued in Colorado before he was tracked down in Florida.

From the report:

“In Colorado, sexual exploitation of a child is defined as “possessing, producing or distributing sexually explicit material (pornography) involving a child under 18” and this particular charge, as outlined in Colorado court documents obtained by TSN, specifies someone who “possesses or controls any sexually exploitative material for any purpose. Trujillo’s particular obscenity charge is defined as “a person commits wholesale promotion of obscenity to a minor if, knowing its content and character, such person wholesale promotes to a minor or possesses with intent to wholesale promote to a minor any obscene material.”

Trujillo is being held on a $10,000 bond. If convicted, Trujillo could be sentenced to 12 to 18 months in prison (per charge).

Trujillo is an 11-fight UFC veteran, racking up a 6-4-1 mark inside the Octagon, losing to the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson, among others.

He left UFC in 2017 after suffering back-to-back losses.
