Jungle Fight has a new bantamweight champion, and he won the title in devastating fashion.
Undefeated in MMA, Mario Israel (9-0) hurt Reginaldo Vieira (9-3) with a combination of punches, and connected a right cross to put him out on the second round to win the 135-pound belt at Jungle Fight 56, which took place at Costa Cavalcanti Gymnasium in Foz do Iguacu, Brazil.
Israel wins the title that was vacated since John Lineker signed with the UFC on 2012.
On the co-main event, Mexican bantamweight Ivan Lopez moved to 11-1 with a first-round submission victory over Paraguay’s Tulio Ivan Ortellando Benegas. Lopez extended his win streak to three since a technical decision loss to Dominick Cruz at WEC 40, on 2009.
Still unbeaten, Warlley Alves (6-0) scored the first knockout victory of his career against Mike “The Problem” Jackson (11-10), an American fighter that currently lives in Brazil to train with UFC’s Cristiano Marcello.
