Bellator Fighting Championships’ second season kicked off Thursday night
at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla., and
the upstart organization once again delivered on some exciting in-cage
action.

Bellator’s biggest new star, Roger Huerta, faced an undefeated Chad Hinton, while Carey Vanier met Joe Duarte
in the night’s main event.

The action was featured on Bellator Fighting Championships 13, which
aired live on FSN.

The upstart Shine Fight organization today officially released the third
matchup for its upcoming third event.

In a bout previously reported by MMAjunkie.com,
submission wizard Alexandre “Cacareco” Ferreira faces IFL veteran Jamal
Patterson.

The pair meets on the main card of “Worlds Collide: Mayorga vs. Thomas,”
which features a main event between former boxing champ Ricardo Mayorga
and UFC vet Din Thomas and takes place May 15 at Crown Coliseum in
Fayetteville, N.C.

The fight card for “WEC 48: Aldo vs. Faber” is complete again.

One day after Mackens Semerzier was forced to withdraw from the event
with an undisclosed injury, Chad Mendes (6-0 MMA, 1-0 WEC) has agreed to
step up and face Anthony Morrison (15-8 MMA, 0-1 WEC) on the evening’s
preliminary card.

The switch was first reported by MMAWeekly.com, and MMAjunkie.com has since confirmed the report with sources close to
the event.

Things didn’t go so well in Terry Etim’s first few UFC
appearances.

Despite a “Submission of the Night” win in his UFC debut, the Brit went
on to drop two-straight decisions to Gleison Tibau snd Rich Clementi.

But since that time, Etim (14-2 MMA, 5-2 UFC) has reeled off four-straight UFC wins and
looks to be one of the lightweight division’s most promising prospects.
And at Saturday’s UFC 112 event in Abu Dhabi, Etim believes he’ll face
his toughest test to date.
