One of the inevitable questions that comes out of every post-UFC press
conference is, “What’s next?” for each of the evening’s fighters.
While the stock answer for nearly all UFC competitors is simply,
“Whoever the UFC puts in front of me,” a few of the fighters from this
weekend’s UFC 110 event in Sydney, Australia, had more specific goals
in mind.
After an auspicious ending to their preliminary card matchup, both
Stephan Bonnar and Krzysztof Soszynski said they’d be open to a
rematch, while main-card winner Wanderlei Silva appears destined for a
future bout with Yoshihiro Akiyama.

Heading into the main event of UFC 110, many MMA experts pointed to the suspect power of heavyweight Cain Velasquez and the legendary chin of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira as a reason “Big Nog” would eventually defeat his much-younger opponent.
Many MMA experts were horribly wrong.
Instead, Velasquez destroyed Nogueira on the feet in less than one-half
of a round in the main event of “UFC 110: Nogueira vs. Velasquez” at
Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.

In the UFC’s first-ever trip to Australia, the UFC 110’s final preliminary card matchup ended in a bit of controversy as Krzysztof Soszynski was awarded a TKO win by opening up a deep cut on the face of opponent Stephan Bonnar via accidental headbutt.
The unfortunate ending to the matchup put a slight damper on what had otherwise been an exciting night of preliminary action at Sydney’s Acer Arena prior to the evening’s pay-per-view broadcast main card.
Well, nothing can be perfect.

The last time UFC fans saw Goran Reljic (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) in the
octagon, C.B. Dollaway (9-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) was still just a cast member
of “The Ultimate Fighter 7.”
It was May 2008, and Reljic wowed a Las Vegas crowd with a
come-from-behind TKO victory over Wilson Gouveia that earned the
evening’s “Fight of the Night” tag at UFC 84.
Nearly two years later, Dollaway is now a five-time UFC veteran, and
Reljic is returning to action for the first time following a major back
surgery.

Many were shocked when “The Ultimate Fighter 8” cast member George Roop
(10-6 MMA, 0-1 WEC) made the drop from lightweight to bantamweight
while skipping over the featherweight division.
Now it appears Roop will fill in that gap.
MMAjunkie.com has learned from sources close to the event that Roop has
verbally agreed to face Leonard Garcia (13-5 MMA, 3-2 WEC) in a 145-pound matchup on the
preliminary card of WEC 47.
