In a somewhat surprising move, UFC middleweight Tom DeBlass is retiring from fighting.

The fighter late Tuesday made the announcement on his Facebook page. The 30-year-old said he came to the decision after discussions with his family and coaches.

DeBlass this past Saturday dropped a unanimous decision to Riki Fukuda at UFC on FUEL TV 6 in Macau.

Bruce Buffer will trade in the Octagon for Pit Road this weekend.

Buffer, the UFC’s longtime in-cage announcer, will add NASCAR to his resume on Sunday. And it couldn’t come at a better time.

Buffer will do driver introductions at Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Ford EcoBoost 400 race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

A middleweight battle has been added to next month’s Cage Warriors 50 event.

Promotion officials on Tuesday announced a bout between Sweden’s Mats Nilsson and Jamaica-born, England-based Denniston Sutherland. Both fighters will compete under the Cage Warriors banner for the second time.

Cage Warriors 50 takes place Dec. 8 at Kelvin Hall in Glasgow, Scotland. The main card streams on MMAjunkie.com following prelims on Facebook.

The UFC’s pre-event preview show returned on Tuesday, and the full episode of “Countdown to UFC 154” is now available for online viewing.

The FUEL TV show previews Saturday’s UFC 154 pay-per-view welterweight title unification bout between champion Georges St-Pierre and interim champ Carlos Condit.

UFC 154 takes place at Bell Centre in Montreal, St-Pierre’s home city and training base.

Ivan Menjivar has fought enough that he knows how to appreciate a home bout.

And that’s just what the bantamweight plans on doing this week for his fight at UFC 154. Menjivar meets UFC newcomer Azamat Gashimov, and he gets to do it close to his Tristar Gym training home.
