SUNRISE, Fla. – Brazilian prospect Erick Silva made it clear he’s a
legitimate UFC property, stopping a durable Charlie Brenneman in the
opening round.

Silva, who avoided his opponent’s takedown-based attacks and enjoyed the
benefit a few quick clinch breaks, scored a first-round submission win.

The welterweight fight took place at UFC on FX 3 at BankAtlantic Center
in Sunrise, Fla. It served as the co-main event of the broadcast on FX
following a preliminary card that aired on Facebook and FUEL TV.

Pierce was able to use the strength of his wrestling game Friday to outwork Carlos Eduardo Rocha, staying away from the dangerous Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt’s submission attempts en route to an odd split decision win with scores of 27-30, 30-27, 30-27.

After one scoring error earlier on the card, eyebrows raised when the score was read, as it appeared that Pierce had done enough to cruise through all three rounds.

SUNRISE, Fla. – Seth Baczynski earned his third-straight UFC win with a
gutsy split-decision effort over the previously-undefeated Lance Benoist.

Baczynski fought through a pair of illegal knees to finish strong in all
three rounds against Benoist, earning the judges’ nod on two of three
cards.
