A new steward will soon take the helm at the beleaguered California State Athletic Commission.

Following the contentious exit of executive officer George Dodd, California’s Department of Consumer Affairs today announced the hiring of former Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Commission Executive Director Andy Foster.

“We are hoping he can do in California what he did in Georgia in terms of increasing both revenue and the number of shows,” stated CSAC chairman John Frierson in a press release.

A battle between a pair of heavyweights has been added to the slate for the TUF 16 Finale.

Pat Barry and Shane Del Rosario are targeted for a meeting in December. Sources with knowledge of the fight booking on Tuesday confirmed the matchup to MMAjunkie.com.

The Ultimate Fighter 16 Finale takes place Dec. 15 at The Joint at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas with a main event between TUF 16 coaches Shane Carwin and Roy Nelson.

Quinton Jackson might just be talking himself into a future fight with Chael Sonnen as he blasts the two-time middleweight title challenger about trash talk.

The ex-champ again blasted Sonnen during a Monday interview with Bas Rutten on AXS TV’s “Inside MMA.”

“If I see Chael Sonnen and he says anything to my face, I don’t know if I’m going to smack him or not,” Jackson said. “I don’t like the guy.”

Still 10 days from its debut, World Series of Fighting has made another change in its broadcast booth.

The promotion on Tuesday announced its official team to call World Series of Fighting 1 will be Todd Harris and Bas Rutten. Rutten already had been attached to the card, but Harris is a new addition.

WSOF 1 takes place Nov. 3 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The event’s main card airs live on NBC Sports Network.
