Rousey vs. Zingano Prediction

UFC Womens Bantamweight Title Bout: Ronda Rousey vs. Cat Zingano

Odds:  ( -765 Rousey / +565 Zingano )

Betting Pick:  Rousey

Bet on this fight at Bovada

Coming to us LIVE from the City of Angels, Los Angeles, California, UFC 184 brings us Ronda Rousey vs. Cat Zingano. The fighting world has been waiting for this fight for months now. No one, and I mean no one, has even proven to reside on the same planet as Rousey after stepping in the octagon. Cat has proven her worth since joining the UFC. She has made ladies bleed like I have seen in the Women division of the UFC. She has a viciousness you really only see in one other fight, Ronda Rousey. Cat just looks mean and feel like she has something to prove because no matter what she does, unless she beats Rousey, it’s back to square one. Rousey isn’t taking this one lightly, well because, I don’t think her genes allow her to. I believe this will be an entertaining fight from start to finish, and one you won’t want to miss.

Cat Zingano #1 Contender 9-0

When you look at the fight and the different areas usually talked about in UFC articles, it’s tough to say that Zingano cant be considered a favorite in any of them. She does that have some serious skill when on the mat. I know her record and wins show that she knockout her opponents like we haven’t sen before, her mat game is top notch. She needs to stay in control though. Now lets be clear, if she isn’t controlling the time on the mat, things will get ugly, quick. I know it seems insane to think that this fight will want to take the fight to mat but its really the only place she stands a chance, again, while in control. She is going to need to stay within herself. We have all seen Rousey catch an armbar when least expected and that’ll happen again if she decides to stray from her fight plan. Zingano has a chance in this fight, and at nearly +700, could pay off handsomely for some.

Ronda Rousey – Champion – 10-0

What can you really say about Ronda Rousey that hasn’t already been said. Rousey, systematically will control this fight from start to finish. She in a recent interview said she’s healthier than ever and that it’ll be nice not fighting on one leg. So hey, every women in the UFC, be afraid, be very afraid. Not only has she never felt defeat, no one has even proven that they should have even been the cage with her. Her striking, grappling, takedown offense and defense, and mentality are all superior to anyone else the UFC women’s division quite possibly will ever see. The sports book don’t see this fight going any other way either. They have Rousey sitting at about (-1000) and I don’t see that line moving very much over the next few days. Typically betting on a (-1000) is a sketchy bet but in this situation, their are definitely worse things to place a wager on (if it’s legal of course). Rousey will be in control of this fight on her feet and on the mat, it’s just really up to her how long she wants to be on camera.

I really don’t see this fight going many other ways than a Rousey win. She will be able to control the fight from start to finish with no issues in-between. Mousey should be able to snag a submission with the first round or may second with out having taken to much damage. Cat will land a blow or two that will get the crowd all rowdy, but nothing that’ll change the fight in a significant way. Rousey will land an arm-bar to finish this fight, and it’ll happen quicker than we all hope.

Prediction: Ronda Rousey by Second Round Sub.

Current UFC 184 Betting Lines – Coming to us LIVE from the City of Angels, Los Angeles, California, UFC 184 bring us the most anticipated fight in UFC Women’s history Ronda Rousey vs. Cat Zingano! Ever since Rousey joined the UFC scene she has been simply dominant. No fighter has proven to compete on the same level as Rousey, well, until now. Cat Zingano has made other fighters bleed like never seen in the Women’s division of the  UFC. Finally, Ronda will be pushed to her limits that will be a treat for every UFC fan to see. The sports books don’t quite see it that way though. Since no other fighter has even proven to really reside on the same planet as Rousey, the betting lines are taking that into account. On average, Rousey is about (-1000) with Cat sitting at around  (+700). Cat has proven she has worth, I do give her a chance, but that about all, a chance. This could be quite profitable for those who think this will be the end of an era.

Current UFC Fight Night 61 Betting Odds – Frank Mir vs. Bigfoot will be the main event at UFC Fight Night 61. Both fighters desperately need a win so I expect there to be some serious emotion inside the octagon. Mir has spoken lately about his newly improved ground game and expects it to be the deciding factor in this fight. Mir hasn’t been victorious in the UFC since December of 2011 and in my opinion knew he had to re-tool his game to gain new leverage in the octagon. Bigfoot has commented about his new conditioning regimen and simply how fighting in Brazil has always been a dream of his. The betting lines have been moving frequently but right now have Bigfoot as the odds on favorite at -260. Frank Mir is once again the underdog in this fight coming in at +200.

Henderson vs. Thatch Prediction

UFC Welterweight Bout:  Ben Henderson vs. Brandon Thatch

Odds:  ( -110 Henderson / -120 Thatch )

Betting Pick:  Thatch

Bet on this fight at Bovada

UFC Fight Night 60 brings us a match-up you will not want to miss, Benson Henderson vs. Brandon Thatch. The variables in this fight are actually quite interesting. First you have Benson coming off a recent loss to Donald Cerrone that many believe was quite controversial and he’s decided to move up a weight class and test the waters versus Thatch. Next you have Brandon Thatch who has made his  two UFC wins look easy, but due to an injury hasn’t won since December of 2013. The betting lines have this fight at nearly EVEN odds and in my opinion couldn’t be more accurate. This will be an exciting fight and the winner might just be able to grab enough footing to make a serious move up the UFC ladder.

Brandon Thatch (11-1)

The body of work for Brandon Thatch is quite low but if you have seen any of his UFC fights over the past few years, you know that this guy is a serious contender. Physically Thatch is more superior than Benson in this fight due to having always been prepared to fight in this weight class. He’s much taller and even though UFC has them weighing the same, its not. Thatch has proven that his striking capabilities are on par with some of the UFC’s elite. In my opinion Thatch needs to focus on finishing this fight quickly to have a chance. Benson is too smart for a 5-Round fight which means that Thatch needs to come out hot. Thatch from the opening bell needs to overwhelm Benson and make him feel cornered. Thatch needs use the striking skills he possesses and make work of Henderson.

Benson Henderson (21-5)

What can you say about Benson Henderson that hasn’t already been said. The amount of skill Benson possesses have made many of our jaws drop over the past few years. These two fighters possess many of the same skills and I expect that much of this fight is going to be on their feet seeing who’s striking will come superior. In my opinion, Benson can win this fight a few different ways. First, Benson can just pick him apart for 5 rounds making Thatch work for everything and introducing him to what a strategic 5-round bout feels like. Second, Benson can take Thatch to the ground. Benson over the years hasn’t shown us and magically ground game like some other fighters but with the body of work that we have on Thatch, Bensons ground game is much superior. Benson at any point in the fight can take Thatch to the ground, tire him and lock in a choke to finish it. Lastly, Benson can just knock him out. You’ll read and hear over the next few days about the striking capabilities of Thatch but lets not forget what we’ve seen from Benson over the years. Benson can shock you with his power and finish this fight quickly.

Like I said previously, this fight should spend most of its time with both fighters on their feet. Both of these fights have striking capabilities that we all pay to see, and to watch these two guy tire themselves out on the mat would be a waste. The sports books have this fight just about even, and I couldn’t agree more. The one thing that scares me about Thatch the most is the time spent away from the octagon, and that his mental toughness is nearly impossible to gauge because of a lack of work.  I expect Thatch (if healthy) to begin to climb the UFC ladder and in the near future secure spot near the top of the weight class.

Prediction: Brandon Thatch by Decision.

?LIVE from Colorado, UFC Fight Night brings us Benson Henderson vs. Brandon Thatch. We all know Benson and what his capabilities are but Thatch to most of us is a wildcard. Thatch has impressed us in the past as a top prospect but has been hindered by a plethora of injuries that have limited the success of his career. Many in the UFC are skeptical of Benson Henderson’s decision to switch between weight classes and I believe they should be. Benson is coming off a loss just two weeks ago to Cowboy Cerrone and is looking to bounce back. Both fighters need a win to gain momentum with a major emphasis on “need”. For either of these fighters to have a fighting chance(pun intended) at another, or their first, shot at the title, it’ll need to start here.
