Former WEC welterweight champion Carlos Condit returns to the gym this week after a nearly two-month absence as the result of a serious cut on his hand.
While cleaning his garage in December, Condit sliced his hand on a broken bulletin board. Doctors, though, would soon rush the UFC fighter into surgery after discovering one of the tendons in his hand was severely infected with staph.
Now allowed back in the gym, Condit is preparing for a run in the UFC’s 170-pound division. And he’s not ruling out a future bout with Paul Daley, who had some choice words after Condit was forced out of their UFC 108 co-main-event bout with the injury.
