On Monday, a mysterious Tweet had named Canadian Tim Hague as a replacement for the injured Shark Fights heavyweight champ Darrill Schoonover. The promotion was quick to deny the Tweet, which was removed, saying they were unsure of who had sent it.

It appears that the Shark Fights promotion does have a replacement now for Schoonover, as Dave ‘Bad Man’ Huckaba (16-4) appears set to face former WWE star Bobby Lashley (6-1) in the main event of the upcoming Shark Fights 21 event.

On Tuesday, MMAjunkie.com spoke to manager Leland LaBarre who confirmed with them that both Lashley and Huckaba would be facing each other at the November event, and that the Shark Fights title would be on the line.

Schoonover had been the champion, but was stripped of the title this past weekend by Shark Fights CEO Bud Brutsman.

Huckaba will likely prove to be Lashley’s toughest opponent, having won five straight and thirteen victories by (T)KO. The ‘Bad Man’ was last in action in August at the Shark Fights 18 show, earning a unanimous decision over Ruben Villareal. That bout was the first time Huckaba had fought for a full three rounds.

Lashley had been scheduled to fight this past July against Eddie Sanchez at the Titan FC 19 event, but withdrew over personal reasons. The former pro-wrestling star has his last mma match in March, earning a unanimous decision over an overmatched John Ott at the Titan FC 17 event in Kansas.
