It’s been a road of highs and lows for Canadian middleweight Patrick ‘The Predator’ Côté (14-7), having gone from battling for the UFC’s 185 lb title, to being dropped from the top promotion after three straight losses.
Côté is hoping to string together some wins in order to catch the UFC’s eye once more, in the hopes that they will bring him back into the fold. ‘The Predator’ has already scored his first victory this past April by defeating former “TUF 3″ fighter Kalib Starnes at a Ringside MMA 10 event last April. Now Côté looks for his second straight win this Saturday, as he faces former UFC light heavyweight Todd Brown at a Ringside MMA 11 event, for that promotions middleweight title.
Côté recently spoke to MMAWeekly.com about winning for the first time in three years, and his hopes of returning to the worlds top promotion.
“It’s good to be back on the winning road. A lot pressure off of my shoulders, and now I’m sure Saturday night I’m going to be looser and I’m going to let my hands go,” Cote said. “It’s going to be better for me. I will think less about only winning. I’m just going to think about this performance and knock him out.”
“The only power I have is to win fights and you never know what’s going to happen after. If I don’t win fights, (the UFC) will never call me back. It’s the only power I have, the only control I have, is to go and give (the UFC) a reason to bring me back.”
