With his third straight loss in the UFC, British striker Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy (23-9, 1NC) knows his future with the big promotion is very questionable, but if he had it his way he’d go out “in a blaze of glory or go out” on his shield.
Hardy lost a unanimous decision to Anthony “Rumble” Johnson this past Saturday in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night: Nogueira vs. Davis in Seattle, Washington. Johnson used his bigger size and his wrestling to dominate all three rounds against “The Outlaw” to grind out a win.
The loss marked his third straight in a years time, having suffered a knockout loss to Carlos Condit at UFC 120, and a unanimous decision defeat at the hands of Georges St-Pierre in a welterweight title bout.
After the loss Saturday night, Hardy has taken to Twitter (@danhardymma) to vent his disappointment and to express his desire to meet a fighter like Chris Lytle for his next fight.
Feeling very frustrated today. No excuses, sometimes you just dont win. I hate having boring fights though.
A bad fight is only a grey cloud, over a good weekend. There is only one direction. Forward.
I want to fight again. I feel like Ive been robbed of the reward at the end of training camp.
An oldschool shootout with a guy that wants to throw down. Screw the rankings, records are for DJs.
Win in a blaze of glory or go out on my shield. Someone like Mr Lytle…
Lytle suffered a loss in his last fight, a unanimous decision loss against Brian Eversole at UFC 127, but managed to snag his fifth “Fight of the Night” bonus.
