If UFC fighters want their share of the $375 million settlement being paid out, they need to fill out a simple form, and they need to do it soon.
There’s $375 million in settlement money waiting to go to UFC fighters that competed between 2010 and 2017, but over 400 athletes still haven’t signed up to be paid.
That’s the message coming from the plaintiffs that fought against the UFC for ten years, alleging that the promotion used it’s position as a Monopsony to distort the labor market and underpay fighters. They were convincing enough that UFC lawyers decided to settle rather than go to trial, where damages of $1.6 billion could have been trebled to over $4 billion if they lost.
$375 million may not seem like a lot compared to those numbers, but it’s still a life-changing amount for many UFC fighters that have been out of the game for a long time — many who are suffering from the physical repercussions of getting punched in the head for a living. According to settlement documents, over 800 of the 1200 fighters that qualify will get over $50,000 each.
But only if they go to UFCClassAction.com and fill out a simple form getting the ball rolling on their payout!
Once Judge Boulware files a final order on the settlement, the clock will start ticking: all claim forms will be sent out in 60 days. From there fighters have 45 days to sign and return the claim forms. After that, FIGHTERS THAT HAVE NOT FILLED OUT THEIR INFO WILL NOT GET PAID. The money that would have been paid to them will be divided amongst fighters that did fill out their forms.
In an attempt to get the word out to the 33% of fighters that haven’t signed up for payment yet, the plaintiffs have released a document with the names and Sherdog IDs (to ensure we’re talking about the correct Paul Taylor) of 400+ fighters they’re trying to get in touch with.
There’s some interesting names on there: Conor McGregor, Alexander Volkanovski, Brock Lesnar, Brendan Schaub, B.J. Penn, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira haven’t made claims (although Antonio Rogerio Nogueira has).

“A handy twenty,” McGregor wrote in response to his name being in the list. The Irish sports star is set to get millions (and could get $100 million more if he took on the legal fight over post-2017 earnings himself).
