OAKLAND, Calif. – It looks like Thiago Alves’ days at welterweight are numbered.

Following UFC 117 this past Saturday at Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif., UFC president Dana White said he wants to see Alves move up to 185 pounds after missing weight by a half pound for a highly anticipated rematch with Jon Fitch.

“He belongs at 185 pounds,” White said. “I feel that way. I know (UFC matchmaker) Joe Silva feels that way. That’s where I’d like to see him.”
