Brazilian fan-favorite, Alex Pereira appears to be all ears to a suggested title fight between himself and Jon Jones for the symbolic BMF title after UFC 309, urging the Rochester native to make Tom Aspinall wait for a charge for the crown — as he receives more call outs from Magomed Ankalaev.
Pereira, a former undisputed middleweight champion, and the incumbent undisputed light heavyweight gold holder, most recently featured just a month ago in the main event of UFC 307.
And successfully defending his crown for the third time this year alone, Sao Paulo striking ace, Alex Pereira landed an eventual fourth round win over surging contender, Khalil Rountree, courtesy of a stunning barrage at the Octagon fence.
And as for Jones, the Rochester native headlines UFC 309 this weekend in a reworked heavyweight title offing against the returning, Stipe Miocic.
Earlier this week, however, Jones suggested he would likely vacate his heavyweight crown should he beat, Miocic — before noting how he prefers a BMF title fight with Pereira, over a potential title unification pairing with current interim gold holder, Aspinall.
“Fighting (Alex) Pereira for the ‘BMF’ belt, that would be cool,” Jon Jones explained. “We both have two belts in two weight classes and the night we fought we’d both be fighting for our third belt, which would be the ‘BMF.’ How cool would that be?”

And on social media overnight, Pereira, a former two-division champion staked his own claim for a symbolic BMF title clash with Jones — posting a cryptic picture of UFC CEO, Dana White holding said title on his Instagram Stories, urging Jones to make his competition wait on him.
“Chama my brother,” Alex Pereira wrote on social media, tagging Jon Jones and Dana White with an eyes emoji in an Instagram story. “Let’s make them wait…”
