Sorry Cosmo, but “American fans are the worst.”
Hey, remember in the animated Street Fighter movie when Chun Li busts up Vega’s face and he starts freaking out because he’s no longer beautiful? Yeah, this is nothing like that, but you should go watch that movie, it’s better than anything I have to say.
Speaking of handsome chaps, former UFC “pretty boy,” Sage Northcutt, is laid up in some Singaporean hospital after Brazilian kickboxer, Cosmo Alexandre, shattered his face with one punch at last weekend’s “Enter the Dragon” event.
But don’t expect “Good Boy” to be celebrating at the expense of his opponent’s demise. Probably because he’s not a douchey combat sports fans like the ones who are lighting up Instagram with “Super” insults.
”When I got back to the hotel there were a lot of messages online, people talking trash at him,” Alexandre told MMA Fighting. “I honestly don’t know why. I can’t understand why people hate him so much. I don’t know if it’s because he’s good looking, like a model. I can’t understand, and I don’t like that. I asked people to stop tagging me on those messages.”
Northcutt reportedly had 30 pieces of bone removed from his face in the hours that followed his first-round knockout loss (see it again here). A hefty price to pay for a 23 year-old kid who’s just doing his job.
”The next day I heard that he had a long surgery. I hate that, man,” Alexandre said. “I’m doing my job there, to go in there and win. I know we can get hurt, but nothing that serious. I was sad because that’s his job and I don’t wish that to anyone.”
No telling if and when the recovering Northcutt will make his return to the ONE Championship promotion, but Alexandre, 37, is expected to appear a few more times before calling it a career.
