Alexis Davis will likely be cheered on by her fellow Canadians vs. Viviane Araujo at UFC 240.
Alexis Davis is ready to get back to her winning ways in front of her fellow countrymen at UFC 240.
The one-time UFC women’s bantamweight title challenger looks to snap a two-fight skid in Edmonton, Albert, Canada, but she will have a tall order in the form of exciting prospect Viviane Araujo. Davis (19-9) is coming off consecutive decision losses to Katlyn Chookagian and Jennifer Maia. Araujo (6-1) made a statement in her UFC debut with a third-round knockout of Talita Bernardo at UFC 237.
UFC 240 is nine weeks away and still has a lot of building to do. It is topped by a long-awaited and often teased featherweight title fight featuring Max Holloway and Frankie Edgar. Gillian Robertson vs. Sarah Frota was recently added to the card, per MMA Fighting. Longtime women’s featherweight queen-pin Cris Cyborg has expressed interest in fighting recently successful UFC debutant Felicia Spencer on the card.
UFC 240 takes place at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Saturday, July 27.
