Strikeforce officials on Sunday night confirmed with MMAjunkie.com that Overeem’s heavyweight belt will be up for grabs when he faces Brett Rogers at the April 17 “Strikeforce St. Louis: Heavy Artillery” event at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis.

Officials initially declined to confirm the championship status of the bout.
