All 22 fighters on the card made weight Wednesday for Thursday night’s Bellator MMA debut on Spike TV.
The event at the University of California-Irvine’s Bren Center features two title bouts. For the lightweight title main event, champion Michael Chandler (10-0) weighed in at 154.6. Challenger Rick Hawn (14-1) hit the 155-pound limit on the nose.
“I’m excited to go out there with a great competitor like Rick Hawn, let’s do this,” said Curran.
“It’s been a long time coming, I’ve been waiting for this fight and I’m ready to go, said Hawn.
Featherweight champ Pat Curran (17-4) also came in under the limit, tipping the scales at 144.8. His challenger, Patricio “Pitbull” Freire weighed in at 144.5.
