Jon Jones is leaving no stone unturned ahead of his return to the Octagon versus Stipe Miocic.

The two were scheduled to face off last year prior to a Jones injury, but the bout has been rebooked for next month (Sat., Nov. 9, 2024) from inside Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York for UFC 309. Throughout his UFC career, “Bones” somewhat infamously has taken different opponents lightly and sometimes his performance has suffered as a result.

Not this time! Jones has now brought in experts from most every facet of MMA to help him prepare for Miocic. Clips of Jones nearly taking off Olympic wrestler Gable Steveson’s head with a flying knee have already gone viral, but Jones has also been working with jiu-jitsu master Gordon Ryan and Heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker.

It’s a massive step up in quality from his previous training squad, which still resulted in a first-round submission win over Ciryl Gane! In response to this all-star team, the online MMA community mourned or Stipe Miocic, who already enters UFC 309 as a significant underdog seeing as he hasn’t fought in forever. Of course, a few mentioned interim champion Tom Aspinall as well.

Check out some of the reactions below:

“Jon Jones was training with some of the best in their respective martial arts during this camp. I have a feeling that he’s going to go out with a dominant outing.”

“Yeah I think Stipe is cooked asf”

“When bro post a pic with who he’s training with he’s showing you why you have no chance to win bro stay rolling with Olympic wrestlers yall are cooked”

“That’s so cool. Fight Tom.”

“RIP Stipe”

“To beat a 40 year old man coming off a crucial KO loss 4 years ago…”

Sadly, UFC 309 is expected to be the final performance of Jon Jones’ professional career. If victorious, expect there to be a major push for the Aspinall fight. Whether that bout happens or not, Jones is one of the most accomplished MMA fighters of all time, a two-division champion with a decade of dominance at 205-pounds.
