Jenelius Crew, 37, was arrested and charged with eight counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Thursday morning for allegedly shooting and wounding eight people outside Rebar Club last week in San Antonio, Texas.

Prior to the shooting, Crew — who was denied entrance to the club for being intoxicated — told security he was a UFC fighter from California. Crew later fled the scene and resurfaced in a hotel in south Florida, where he was eventually caught.

“While conducting surveillance, task force officers observed Crew exit the hotel room,” the release stated on Facebook. “The Florida Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force and Broward County Sheriff’s Office made contact with Crew and took him into custody without incident. Crew was booked into the Miami-Dade County Jail.”

Crew is no stranger to law enforcement. Early last year he pleaded no contest to deadly conduct with a firearm and had multiple probation violations, according to KSAT.com. Fortunately, the victims’ injuries are not considered life threatening and all eight are expected to recover.
