A failed CT scan has forced UFC welterweight Thiago Alves out of a UFC 111 pay-per-view main-card bout with Jon Fitch.
The report comes from Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports, citing UFC president Dana White. New Jersey State Athletic Control Board representative Nick Lembo could not immediately be reached by MMAjunkie.com for comment.
A source close to the event confirmed the failed test and told
MMAjunkie.com that a preliminary-card fight between New Jersey-based
fighter Kurt Pellegrino and Fabricio Camoes will take the open spot on
the PPV card.
