This almost reminds me of an iconic Chappelle Show skit.
When former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva catches you mouthing off about his native country of Brazil, you better run. “The Spider” twice ended rival Chael Sonnen’s attempts at grasping his 185-pound title in 2010 and 2012, and now the proud Brazilian says Conor McGregor should watch who he’s talking about during a recent media scrum.
“He’s doing his job very well. He’s very intelligent and knows exactly what he’s doing. But Rafael cannot get led on by his antics because it didn’t work out very well for Jose Aldo. I think both Jose Aldo and Rafael dos Anjos can beat him. I also think that Conor McGregor should really be careful about what he says about Brazilians because the last person who spoke about a Brazilian, it didn’t end too well for him.”
McGregor, of course, is the boisterous featherweight champion, who recently dethroned Silva’s countryman Jose Aldo at UFC 194 back in December. “Notorious” now has unleashed his profound gift of gab on 155-pound juggernaut, Rafael dos Anjos, who defends his strap against the man otherwise known as Conor McWhite at UFC 196 on March 5, 2016.
“RDA” has remained even-keeled since their superfight was announced last month, but shown signs that his mental defense is wearing thin.
Silva isn’t the only UFC fighter sick of McGregor’s mind games. In fact, he’s the second Brazilian to come out against the Irishman’s controversial words.
Those who’ve gone against the SBG Ireland product have ultimately failed — HARD — and come up short in halting the McGregor money train.
Silva, meanwhile, has a headache of his own to deal with in the form of UFC Fight Night 84 main event opponent, Michael Bisping. He will meet “The Count” behind enemy lines inside The O2 Arena in London, England on Feb. 27, 2016.
