Brazilian strawweight Jessica Andrade wants to make a statement following her teammate’s Priscila Cachoeira bad performance at UFC Belem.

The stakes are high for Jessica Andrade’s upcoming bout against Tecia Torres. A win could not only mean another UFC strawweight title shot for the Brazilian, but will also be a chance to redeem her team, Parana Vale-Tudo, after her teammate Priscila Cachoeira’s subpar performance against Valentina Shevchenko, in Belem.

So, as Andrade told Combate, when she meets Torres, she’ll take the opportunity to show Parana Vale-Tudo’s real talent.

“Because she (Cachoeira) lost, and because too many people are talking about how ‘it looked like she didn’t even train. She did nothing’, that motivates me,” Andrade said. “It motivates me to show that yes she was very well trained. I’m more focused, even more prepared to show everybody I’m a champion, that my master’s routine is a wicked one, that he’s the best coach ever.”

“There’s no such thing as not fighting The Hulk. I’ll fight anybody, I don’t care who it is. We don’t give up easily. It has now become a matter of honor to step up and honor my master and my team and show the world we have the best female fighters in the world.”

Jessica Andrade is expected to meet Tecia Torres at UFC on Fox 28, in Orlando, Florida, on February 24. The card will be headlined by a featherweight match between Jeremy Stephens and Josh Emmett.
