Julius Anglickas just found himself with a big opportunity after Bellator officials pegged him as Anthony Johnson’s replacement against current Light Heavyweight champion, Vadim Nemkov, at the upcoming Bellator 268 event on Oct. 16, 2021.
Johnson was forced out of the title fight — which is also one of the two semifinal bouts for the promotion’s Light Heavyweight Grand Prix — due to a serious health issues. Though “Rumble” wouldn’t reveal details regarding his current health status, he did say he is very “afraid” of what he is about to go through.
Anglickas was pegged as an alternate for the tournament following his win over Gregory Milliard at Bellator 257 earlier this year. The win was his ninth in a row and is currently undefeated inside the Bellator cage, winning his first three fights for the promotion.
The winner of the title fight will face either Ryan Bader or Corey Anderson — who will face off in the co-main event of Bellator 268 — in the tournament finals for the right to be crowned champion and to win the $1 million prize.
