Anthony Pettis car theft suspects taken down by ‘old ladies’

Alleged members of the ‘Cut Throat Mob’, who are accused of stealing from Anthony Pettis, were apprehended in Milwaukee after losing a scuffle to ‘two old ladies.’

According to FOX6 out of Milwaukee, Jesus Lazaro (17), Junior Moreno (17), and Giovanni Zurfluh (18) are now in police custody after a lengthy crime spree that authorities say included dozens of vehicle and property thefts.

The three teens are allegedly part of a group known as the ‘Cut Throat Mob’ or ‘CT Mob’ and among the long list of crimes they are accused of is the property theft of items from inside the unlocked car of former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis, which occurred earlier this month on Pettis’ Milwaukee driveway.

This week Miriam Ben-Shalom and Karen Weiss, who are both senior citizens, were able to identify Lazaro, Moreno, and Zurfluh as the alleged culprits of an unsuccessful carjacking attempt that occurred in October.

The reason that carjacking was unsuccessful is because the alleged thieves got way more than they could handle when Ben-Shalom decided to put up a fight.

As reported by local news outlet ABC9 Ben-Shalom and Weiss had pulled up to the valet stand at Milwaukee’s Hotel Metro, where they had planned to have dinner, when the supposed crime crew descended on their vehicle.

“They probably thought two little old ladies, one who walks with a walker, are easy marks,” said Ben-Shalom.

When Ben-Shalom was taking Weiss’ walker out of the car’s trunk, she noticed a teenager fighting with the valet. Ben-Shalom then decided to come to the valet’s aid.

“I tackled the jerk,” said Ben-Shalom, who is a former Army sergeant who has trained in both taekwondo and karate.

While Ben-Shalom was tussling with the first carjacker, a second young man ran up to her and ordered her to let his friend go. In response to this Ben-Shalom said, “I went around and placed the toe of my boot in a very significant place and told him if he moved or he struggled, he would walk funny for the rest of his life.”

That’s when a Jeep rolled up to the scene. The driver leaned out the vehicle and pointed a gun at Ben-Shalom, telling her he was going to shoot her if she didn’t back away. Ben-Shalom stepped back and allowed the trio to escape.

As the would-be carjackers fled, Ben-Shalom and Weiss were able to note crucial information regarding the getaway vehicle.

Lazaro, Moreno, and Zurfluh are now facing a combined 31 charges. They are considered innocent of all charges until proven guilty.
