LAS VEGAS, NEVADA- Andrei Petroski isn’t sympathetic to his opponent.
Petroski scored a lackluster win at UFC Vegas 97 last night (Sat., Sept 7, 2024) when he defeated Dylan Budka via unanimous decision from inside the UFC APEX in Las Vegas.
The fight was uneventful for the entire fifteen minutes. However, there was drama on Friday morning during the UFC Vegas 97 official early morning weigh-ins. Budka missed weight by three lbs, and when he was on the scale, he was visibly shaking and had to be helped off afterward.
After the fight, Petroski was asked about the situation and did not bite his tongue.
“I thought that he had one foot out the door; I mean, anyone can tell it was an act,” Petroski told the media during his post-fight interview. “He has weight to lose. Look, even if you carry more body fat, you can’t say you’re sucked out, or you’re dying when your face is full. I’ve cut weight since I was literally five years old, so I know when someone is sucked out, and I know the face of someone who just quit- someone who just said, “f—k it.” The UFC tried to help him all week, but he didn’t take the help. It’s just a lack of discipline…I will give the kid credit after each round; he stood there ready to fight.”
Budka fell to 0-2 in the promotion with his loss to Petroski and could be fighting for his job in his next outing.
