Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion, Andrei Arlovski, is still chugging along at the ripe old age of 40, and will now join the UFC 244 line up against undefeated 265-pound bruiser Jairzinho Rozenstruik on Sat., Nov. 2, 2019 inside Madison Square Garden in New York City.
That’s according to a report from Newsday.
Arlovski (28-18, 2 NC) is coming off a unanimous decision win over Ben Rothwell at the UFC on ESPN 4 event back in July, in what marked the “Pit Bull’s” first victory in five fights. The Belarusian is just 3-8 (1 NC) over the last four years and hasn’t finished a fight since May 2015.
As for Rozenstruik (8-0), he’s yet to see the judges’ scorecards in eight trips to the cage, racking up seven knockouts and one submission since his 2012 debut. The 31 year-old “Bigi Boy” is already 2-0 under the UFC banner, having pasteurized Allen Crowder and Junior Albini earlier this year.
UFC 244 will be headlined by the welterweight showdown between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz, who collide for the one-and-done “Bad Mother Fucker” belt. Elsewhere on the card, Stephen Thompson collides with Vicente Luque, while Kelvin Gastelum welcomes Darren Till to 185 pounds.
