Andrei Arlovski regrets a portion of a rant he went on following his win over Ben Rothwell.

Andrei Arlovski picked up a much-needed win over Ben Rothwell at UFC on ESPN: Dos Anjos vs. Edwards over the weekend. Following the victory, an emotional Arlovski spoke to the media and did not mince words when it came to talking about those who question his chin. Unfortunately, he ended up using a homophobic slur in the middle of his expletive-filled rant:

”Ben, he’s a f—king heavy hitter, And once again I will tell everyone shut your f—king mouths about my f—king glass chin. So go f—k yourself, f—-ots. That’s it. I just proved everyone f—king wrong. I’m happy that I shut their mouths again, so that’s it.”

On Monday, Arlovski spoke to MMA Junkie and said he was sorry for using the slur:

“I apologize to anyone I offended with my poor choice of words,” Arlovski said. “I did not mean to offend any one group or person. I am deeply sorry and will not use these type of words in the future.”

The UFC also issued a statement to MMA Junkie in regards to the incident:

“UFC is aware of the recent remarks from heavyweight athlete Andrei Arlovski. The organization does not condone any disparaging comments regarding race, religion and/or sexual orientation. We have already addressed this issue directly with Andrei and his team. This is an ongoing priority for the organization, and there will be continued monitoring of these types of situations moving forward.”

Arlovski (28-18 2 NC, 17-12 UFC, 1 NC) ended his winless streak at four with the unanimous decision over Rothwell. It was the eighth straight fight of Arlovski’s that has gone the distance.
