“Although, you know, some people think its an act, but it’s not an act. He’s really that much of a dipsh-t in real life.”

Colby Covington might be one of the most hated fighters on the UFC roster, but many fighters think the former interim UFC welterweight champion is putting on an act and playing up to the cameras.

According to retired UFC welterweight and former ONE FC and Bellator 170-pound champ Ben Askren, however, Covington is every bit as obnoxious and insulting behind closed doors as he is on TV and social media.

Speaking to Low Kick MMA’s Jordan Ellis in a recent interview, ‘Funky’ had no problem labelling ‘Chaos’ a ‘dipshit’ and ‘a terrible person’.

“Well, I think he’s a terrible person,” Askren said. “I think that’s pretty well established, kinda anywhere he’s been people can’t stand him. I think that’s now being established at American Top Team and as a fighter. Well he’s pretty good. He almost won a world title. He does a pretty good job at promoting himself. Although, you know, some people think its an act, but it’s not an act. He’s really that much of a dipsh-t in real life.”

Covington, who chooses to refer to Ben Askren as ‘Ben Asscream’, hasn’t fought since his welterweight title loss to Kamaru Usman at UFC 245, which saw the 32-year-old TKO’d in the fifth round after reportedly breaking his jaw in the third. Despite those reports, Covington has called for an immediate rematch with Usman and insists that his jaw is fine.
