Aung La Nsang is a two-division ONE Championship titleholder. He will be defending his middleweight belt for the first time on June 29th against Rizin and Deep veteran Ken Hasegawa.

Their fight will headline ONE: “Spirit of a Warrior” which is set for the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium. La Nsang (22-10-0-1 ) is a local hero who grew up in Yangon and has won all five of his fights in this venue.

Hasegawa (16-2-1) has spent much of his career competing as a heavyweight and was the Deep “Megaton” champion for several years. The 31 year old is confident he can follow in the footsteps of compatriot Kotetsu Boku by winning a ONE title on his promotional debut.

“After eight years of excellence as a professional, I have reached the next stage in my career, and I can’t be any more excited for what is in store for me. I am grateful to ONE Championship for giving me the opportunity to showcase my talents to the world. It is an honor to face Aung La N Sang for the belt. I respect him and what he has accomplished, but I am confident of victory, and my hand will be raised as the new middleweight champion,” he said.

In his last two fights La Nsang has fought at open weight and light heavyweight, capturing a title in the latter division. This will be the first defence of his middleweight title and he is excited to be back in front of the Yangon fans.

“It is always a pleasure and a privilege to share my skills and talents to everyone back home. As champion, I am willing to take on all comers. It is an honor to represent the country of Myanmar on the biggest global stage of martial arts competition. This world championship means a lot to me, to those who have been behind my career from the very beginning, to my family, and to my friends. I will do everything in my power to defend this title against the hungry lion that is Ken Hasegawa.”

Although Leandro Ataides had been promised a middleweight title shot the Brazilian was not ready to fight in July. Instead he is likely to face the winner of this bout later in the year.
