Another highly anticipated fight features a match-up between one of the fastest rising MMA stars versus one of the best lightweights in the world. Roger “El Matador” Huerta, who won Lightweight and Welterweight Championships while on an impressive eleven fight winning streak, will mark his first ever fight outside the USA at ONE FC: Destiny of Warriors against Brazil’s Zorobabel Moreira. Moreira is fresh off a thrilling victory from ONE FC’s 31 March event where he submitted Felipe Enomoto from Japan with an armbar in the third round of the main event.
Apart from the explosive main event, MMA fans will also have the opportunity to see the two best submission specialists in Asia. Masakazu Imanari, otherwise known as “Ashikan Judan” or “The Master of Leg Locks”, possesses a killer instinct unlike any other. He has ended his fights via submission on 16 separate occasions, including a devastating victory, via a nasty heel-hook, over the top Filipino bantamweight fighter at ONE Fighting Championship™: War of the Lions in Singapore. His opponent is none other than the highly decorated Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) world champion, Leandro Issa, who has spent the last 13 years amassing numerous regional and national BJJ titles. Issa is currently riding a six fight win streak, including a submission victory over Korea’s top bantamweight at ONE Fighting Championship™: Champion vs Champion. Whether this fight ends up on the ground or stays on the feet, this will definitely be an exciting fight to watch. Both fighters will be looking to deliver a memorable performance and will undoubtedly amaze the Malaysian crowd at Stadium Negara.
Come see history in the making as a spectacular lineup of international superstars share the ONE FC cage with local heroes such as Silat Champion AJ Lias Mansor, World BJJ Champion Adam Kayoom as well as UK CFC Champion Peter Davis. Witness these warriors battling it out in the ONE FC cage for the very first time in Malaysia at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur on 23 June 2012.
CEO of ONE Fighting Championship™ Victor Cui stated “I’m so excited for this upcoming event in Malaysia. When I was piecing this fight card together I was blown away by the level of talent we are showcasing on this card. Not only are we featuring the fastest rising fighters in Asia, but we can finally see one of the baddest men on the planet, Babalu Sobral, face off against Tatsuya Mizuno, who is, in my opinion, the best Judo practitioner in that weight class. Come one, come all, to Stadium Negara on June 23, and witness the might of ONE FC and Asian MMA.”
