Kickboxing legends will collide next year in “The Land of the Rising Sun.”
On Sunday (Dec. 15, 2024), ONE Championship announced former ONE Flyweight Muay Thai champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon will fight former three-division K-1 champion Takeru Segawa in a five-round flyweight kickboxing match, which will go down in the legendary Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
The two kickboxing superstars were scheduled to fight in Jan. 2024; however, Rodtang withdrew from the fight due to injury. Takeru ended up fighting fellow kickboxing star Superlek and lost a unanimous decision in a crazy battle.

Regarding the best fights that can be made right now, Rodtang vs. Takeru is at the top of the list. Both fighters have been calling for this fight for several years and Takeru even left K-1 to for the sole reason of pursuing Rodtang in ONE Championship. With their fighting style, the kickboxing match should be complete fireworks.
Rodtang, 27, is riding a two-fight winning streak, with both of his wins coming in 2024. He beat Denis Puric at ONE 167 and Jacob Smith at ONE 169; however, the Thai kickboxer was stripped of the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai title for missing weight.
As mentioned, Takeru, 33, lost a unanimous decision to Superlek to kick off 2024 but rebounded with a brutal stoppage of Thant Zin at ONE Friday Fights 81 in Sept.
