It looks like post-UFC life is treating Tito Ortiz just fine. Ortiz banked a hefty $300,000 purse for his split decision victory over fellow UFC Hall of Famer Stephan Bonnar in the headlining bout of Saturday’s Bellator 131 event, according to information released to Sherdog.com by the California State Athletic Commission.
Bonnar took home $100,000 in the losing effort, although he could have doubled that amount had he defeated Ortiz.
Aside from the two former UFC stalwarts, lightweight champion Will Brooks handily led the rest of the night’s $632,600 disclosed payroll. Brooks earned $62,000 for his second straight victory over Michael Chandler ($25,000), TKO’ing the former champ in a bizarre fourth-round sequence in the night’s co-main event.
Bellator 131 took place November 15, 2014 at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, Calif.
