Bellator 159: “Caldwell vs. Taimanglo” will take place July 22, 2016 at Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas. The featured attraction of the night will be a bantamweight contender match between Darrion Caldwell and Joe Taimanglo.
“The Wolf” Caldwell is undefeated at 9-0, having extended that win streak with a first round finish of Joe Warren in the main event of Bellator 151. The promotion promptly rewarded Caldwell with a long-term contract extension.
That said, “The Juggernaut” Taimanglo is not to be taken lightly. He’s shown a renewed vigor since dropping from featherweight, running off a three-fight win streak which includes a unanimous decision over Sirwan Kakai that also came at Bellator 151.
The card for Mulvane will be bolstered by the return of local fan favorite “The Caveman” David Rickels (17-4, 1 NC). He’ll face long-time lightweight veteran Melvin Guillard (32-16-2, 2 NC) in a bout televised on Spike TV.
