Bellator 170 “Ortiz vs. Sonnen” went down last Saturday night (Jan. 21, 2017) at The Forum in Inglewood, Calif. After announcing it was his last MMA fight ever, Tito Ortiz submitted Chael Sonnen (watch here) and finally got his long awaited revenge.

It turns out that was a pretty good hook to get people to tune in.

Bellator and Spike TV are reporting that 1.85 million viewers watched the main event — all 123 seconds of it. The numbers are expected to rise when DVR +3 data is released later this week.

That equates to the third-highest ratings in the promotion’s history.

The co-main event of Paul Daley and Brennan Ward (watch here) was also a hit with fight fans, with 1.7 million people watching as “Semtex” crushed Ward with a brutal flying knee.

The three-hour broadcast averaged 1.4 million viewers and drew the second most viewers on Spike.com and the Bellator mobile app in “prelims” history for the promotion, second only to Bellator 149 “Shamrock vs. Gracie 3” last year.

Not too shabby.
