Fedor Emelianenko vs. Frank Mir – Round 1 – The crowd is going nuts as the men walk to the center of the cage. Mir clips Fedor 15 seconds in and hurts him, but now Fedor scores with a takedown and some strikes as they stand. Fedor bombs Mir and Mir is down. Fedor blasts away with punches and it’s over! Fedor wins for the first time in five fights on American soil. It was a short left uppercut that put Mir down. He came in wildly, got put off-balance by a cuffing shot and fell forward right into the uppercut.
