Bellator 207: “Mitrione vs. Bader” comes to Mohegan Sun Arena on Oct. 12, 2018, in Uncasville, Conn., where one-half of the finals for the Heavyweight Grand Prix will be determined as Matt Mitrione (13-5) takes on Light Heavyweight champion Ryan Bader (25-5) in a non-title bout.
The Paramount Network-televised card is only starting to take shape with the event two months away, but a source with Bellator MMA confirmed to MMAmania.com about a “Prelims” bout with some exciting potential at 135 pounds: Two undefeated fighters, Mike Kimbel (1-0) and Alex Potts (1-0), will lock horns on the undercard.
Kimbel made a name for himself with his debut at “Mitrione vs. Nelson 2” in February by powerbombing his opponent to the canvas pro wrestling-style to escape a submission and then following it up with some vicious ground-and-pound. It’s definitely worth another watch:
His opponent in Uncasville was no less impressive. Potts competed at Bellator 182 last year and only needed three minutes and change to secure a first round kimura submission. Will we get the slam or the sub from these two prospects? We’ll only know for sure in October.
