Check out the blow-by-blow results for tonight’s Bellator 239 card, featuring top shelf welterweight bout Ed Ruth vs. Yaroslav Amosov in the main event.

Join us tonight on Bloody Elbow for results, discussion and play-by-play for the Bellator 239: Ruth vs. Amosov main card. This four-fight main card will air live tonight on Paramount Network at 9 p.m. ET.

The marquee matchup of the night will be between surging welterweights Ed Ruth and Yaroslav Amosov. Before that, the co-main event will see a clash lightweight styles when promotional mainstay, Brandon Girtz, meets former UFC talent, Myles Jury. Also on the main card, a 2x NJCAA national champ in Tyrell Fortune tangles with willing brawler Tim Johnson in the heavyweight division. Opening the main portion of this event will see more big men, when the ever-scrappy Javy Ayala collides with the up and coming Valentin Moldavsky.

Ed Ruth vs. Yaroslav Amosov: Welterweight

Rd.1-

A jab jab cross connects for Amosov. He shoots in but nothing came of it. Ruth goes for a shot but Amosov escaped. Ruth stays with the takedown. Amosov is fighting it and hits a trip to take top position. Ruth is up and shoots in again. Amosov stays vertical. Ruth pumps a jab and then blocks a high kick. Inside leg kick for Amosov, and a jab for Ruth hit. Outside leg kick scores for Ruth, then an inside one. A hook grazes but a jab sticks for Amosov. Ruth returns the jab. A hard leg kick for Amosov. Stiff cross gets through for Amosov. They exchange jabs. Ruth shoots in but Amosov springs right back up. They’re against the cage, with Ruth pressing. Amosov stays upright. Ruth launches knees to the leg. Amosov hits a trip but they both stand up. Amosov lands an overhand right. He lands a jab and then an elbow.

Ruth launches a head kick to start the fight. He attacks the inside leg. Amosov sticks a jab. A double jab gets through for Amosov. A cross hits for Ruth, but Amosov responds with a hook to jab. A looping right hand for Amosov. Two jabs land for Ruth before they clinch up. Knee to the belly for Amosov. Ruth returns one of his own. Another knee for Amosov connects. Ruth shoots in but fails. Amosov shoots in but fails. A head kick misses for Amosov, but he connects with a three-piece. Teep for Amosov, then a cross. They trade jabs. Amosov shoots in but Ruth lands on top. Amosov tries to stand up but Ruth takes the back. Amosov stands again and breaks free. A cross scores for Amosov before he shoots in and gets the takedown. They stall out.

Ruth lands a big cross to start the round. Amosov sticks out a few jabs. They exchange kicks to the leg. Ruth scores with a jab as Amosov advances. A body kick gets through for Amosov. Another jab for Amosov. Volume is being thrown by Amosov, but Ruth stops it with a hard cross. Another cross lands for Ruth. Amosov shoots in for a brief takedown. Amosov is on the back. Ruth spins around into top position. Amosov quickly escapes to his feet. What a scrambling sequence! Amosov sticks a cross. Jab connects for Amosov and misses a right. Inside leg kick hits for Ruth. Body kick to jab lands for Amosov. Ruth gets knocked over by a body kick but stands right up. Amosov is throwing volume with his hands again. They’re not hard strikes but they’re scoring and adding up. Hard jab scores for Ruth. Amosov teeps. Looping right hand is blocked by Ruth. Inside leg kick for Amosov.

Brandon Girtz vs. Myles Jury: Lightweight

Rd.1-

Girtz blitzes in with a looping combo. A body kick to left hand scores for Girtz. Jury throws an upkick but Girtz scores a hook to knee combo. Another body kick hits for Girtz, which looked to be a bit low. Another blitz from Girtz. Jury responds with a head kick that gets blocked. A jab lands for Jury. A heavy right hand connects for Girtz. A slick knee to the body hits Girtz in the sternum. Girtz catches a kick and blasts away with a series of right hands. Girtz is looking for the takedown against the cage. Jury works for underhooks and knees the body on the break. Jury sticks a jab. Another jab hits for Jury. A violent two-piece comes flying in for Girtz and Jury knees the body again. Jury shows the up kick. Girtz whiffs on an uppercut but lands a wide hook.

A mean right hand landed for Girtz before about three of his bombs missed. Girtz forces Jury to the fence and gets a takedown. Jury rolls for an arm but Girtz shucks it off and re-enters the guard. Girtz lands a couple of chipping shots. Jury lands a few elbows from his back. Girtz is attacking the body as Jury looks to tie up. The ref stands them up. Jury accidentally pokes Girtz in the eye as Girtz throws a left cross, bringing a pause to the bout. The doctor comes in to take a look at the eye. The fight resumes. Girtz sneaks in a cross before missing with an uppercut. Jury lands a right hand and goes for a takedown. Girtz is fighting but Jury is on the back. Jury sinks his hook while Girtz is standing. The bell rings.

Rd.3-

Jury presses forward with kicks to the head and body. Girtz wings a combo but misses. Jury hits a clean two-piece. Jury kicks to the body, and again. Cross to the body then a head hook lands for Girtz. Jury gets pushed against the cage. Jury is working for underhooks. They break apart. Jury presses forward with a jab. He throws another up kick. They clinch up and Jury fires with two knees to the gut. Girtz presses Jury against the fence for a moment before separating. A cross sneaks in for Jury. A jab cross for Jury. Another jab connects. Girtz misses with a wild hook and eats an uppercut. A right hand lands for Girtz but a flying knee connects for Jury. A takedown is secured by Jury. Girtz is up but Jury is working to the back. Girtz is punching the thigh of Jury over and over. Jury sinks his hooks and takes the fight to the floor.

Tyrell Fortune vs. Tim Johnson: Heavyweight

Rd.1-

Johnson presses forward with a jab jab cross. Then an outside leg kick. He blitzed forward with a flurry but Fortune backs away. Fortune lands a stiff cross. Johnson connects on a leaping hook. Johnson blitzes again to no avail. Fortune lands another stinging cross. Johnson hooks to the body and Fortune returns a cross. They tie up, but quickly break apart. Fortune misses with a cross but hits a knee to the body. A rear uppercut lands for Johnson. Then BOOM! Johnson lands a massive right hook that KNOCKS FORTUNE OUT COLD!!! WOW!!!

Javy Ayala vs. Valentin Moldavsky: Heavyweight

Rd.1-

Moldavsky grabs ahold of the double unders and gets a takedown up against the fence. He lands in side control. Moldavsky lands an elbow and Ayala swims for an underhook. Ayala is up but still against the cage. Moldavsky hits another takedown. He works for an arm triangle from half guard. Moldavsky hops into side control, still attacking. Ayala escapes and stands up, but drops to his knee to avoid a knee to the head. Moldavsky spins to the back and lands a set of punches. Ayala stands up but is taken right back down. Rinse and repeat. Moldavsky drops some more hammers, not giving his foe any space. Ayala is up but then immediately right back down. Moldavsky is now in side control again.

Rd.2-

Ayala throws a flying knee but gives up the underhooks. Moldavsky hits yet another takedown. Ayala gets back up, but hits the floor once again. Moldavsky is working from side control, dropping short hammerfists. Ayala gives up his back but is able to stand up. Surprise surprise, Moldavsky gets another takedown. He lands some knees to the legs. Ayala is up; Ayala is down. He tries to wall walk, but Moldavsky is having none of it and drags him back down. Moldavsky lands a few quality strikes before the bell.

Rd.3-

Ayala throws a two-piece before getting pushed into the cage. Moldavsky muscles the takedown into half guard. He has solidified the position and is starting to land some punches to the head and body. Ayala scrambles to try and get up, but Moldavsky doesn’t allow it to happen. Ayala works again to get to his feet, but Moldavsky stays attached and brings the fight back to the canvas. Ayala is stuck on the bottom of half guard eating shots. Moldavsky steps away, allowing Ayala to stand up. He then shoves Ayala against the cage as time expires.
