The third event of the promotions fourth season drew 173,000 viewers last weekend, a drop of almost 60,000 from the number of people who tuned in for Bellator 36. News of the viewer numbers was first reported by MMAjunkie.com.

Bellator 35 brought in 200,000 viewers on MTV2, while Bellator 36 reached a high of 230,000 viewers for the live event and a total of 240,000 for the replay.

Certainly not a huge difference in numbers, Bellator did have to compete with the Facebook UFC 128 prelim stream as well as the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.

The event took place at the Lucky Star Casino last Saturday night, and featured the season four featherweight quarterfinal bouts. The main card, which included the tournament quarterfinals, aired live on MTV2 seeing Patricio Freire, Wilson Reis, Daniel Straus and Kenny Foster advance into the semifinals.
