Bellator has cut all ties to fighter Joe Vedepo following the veteran light heavyweight’s recent legal trouble in Iowa.
The 31-year old was arrested in Iowa City on Nov. 28 after an alleged drunken brawl which left a police officer hospitalized.
Vedepo, who lost to “King Mo” Lawal at Bellator 131, competed under a one-fight deal with company options to extend the contract. Thursday, MMAjunkie.com reported that Bellator has chose to part ways with the fighter. MMAFighting.com confirmed the report with a Bellator representative.
Vedepo was charged with five misdemeanors in the wake of the incident.
The 31-year-old Vedepo is 4-3 in seven Bellator fights. He also went 0-2 in a UFC stint in 2008-09.
