After a scheduled Bellator featherweight title fight was cancelled this past week due to a broken hand, Season Six Tournament winner Daniel Straus’ (21-4) has turned from bad to worse after an arrest on Friday in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Straus, who was arrested under his full name Daniel Mason-Straus, faces four traffic and drug charges by Fort Lauderdale Police. The fighter faces a total of four charges and is being held in the North Broward Bureau detention facility in Pompano Beach on $2,200 bail.

Straus was arrested for driving while on a suspended license, possession of cannabis over 20 grams, possessing drug paraphernalia and possession of MDMA (esctasy).

The Cincinnati native had been scheduled to face Bellator featherweight champ Pat Curran next month at Bellator 95 but was forced off due to injury. The Bellator promotion replaced Straus with Season Seven touny winner Shahbulat Shamhalaev.

Straus is currently riding a five fight win streak which includes a second round submission victory last October in a non-tournament bout at Bellator 78 against Alvin Robinson. Straus earned decisions over Jeremy Spoon, Mike Corey and Marlon Sandro to win the Season Six Tournament.
